Interview: The mutual breathing life back into life insurance

Michael Pillemer, Chief Executive of PPS Mutual, recently spoke with Sean Aylmer of the Fear and Greed podcast about how the life insurance sector faired during the Royal Commission into banking and how PPS Mutual is doing its best to play a part in reviving the industry’s reputation.

Sean highlighted that the insurance industry has had a bad wrap for a long time and discussed with Michael his views on how the fallout from the Royal Commission unfortunately distracted from the invaluable support that the sector provides both individuals and the community.

Michael highlighted how “every year about $2 billion is paid out in claims to over 100,000 Australians. And having been in the industry for over 35 years now, I’ve seen the difference that this can make to people’s lives.”
